About this print: Shaun captured this image of a poppy field during a “superbloom” in 2019 in California. When he arrived at the poppy fields, he was shocked at the crowds that were all around. Unfortunately, many people trample the poppies for social media images, killing the poppies and scaring the landscape. After a disappointing day at the poppy fields, he came across this scene as he was headed back to his car. These poppies had started to close as the sun was setting. All of the people had left and it was just Shaun and a little red farmhouse on this trail. For this brief moment, the poppy fields were everything they should be and it was beautiful. Shaun will donate 5% of the proceeds from this print to Vision Maker Media, a indigenous owned and led organization that empowers Native peoples to share their stories through film.
